Here is the link on flightsim for the Floatplane package
Had to adjust the flightplans a tad so there was not more than one plane at any destination . the updated flightplans should be on Flightsim later today

The link took me to the login at Flightsim. So if you log in there look for the file called pictonai.zip.
Thanks for another NZ ai package

http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?Ca ... DLID=98521
or put PSC in the search file...
For those of you who dont like flight sim here is the Float plane file on Avsim (with the up dated flight plans) . Dont use the bgl traffic files though, for in my haste and third time to try and get on avsim I put the wrong bgl files in the pack . use ttools to get the right flightplans
Note For those of you that downloaded the pack on flightsim the correct updated flightplans should be up tomorrow.
PHEW! I promise I will leave the uploading to the pro's in the future !!!

It was originally on Avsim.com, but may not have survived their website hack a couple of years ago.
Unfortunately i no longer have it either, having lost my backup of it in an HDD failure some time back.
You could ask Charl here on NZFF. he may be likely to have it.

OK. so I downloaded the pictonai.zip from Flighsim.com....Ta very much biggrin.gif Have since installed it, then converted some traffic files to FSX format (Using AIFP) All good so far winkyy.gif Only problem is, that as it was written for FS9, the instructions tell you to place the traffic files, (which include flight plans written in a different format to the usual FSX flight plans) in the Scenery/World/scenery folder. I did this and of couse nothing shows up sad.gif So I am wondering if any of you clever Techie Types can advise me as to where to put these flight plan documents....Now now! no need to be rood! tongue.gif
Or maybe I would be better to give up? Would be nice to have AI floatplanes out of Picton & Wellywood cos I have got the AI Cook Strait ferries working OK. Oh well, guess you can't have everything unsure.gif

Location for the traffic BGL files is fine for FSX but have you converted these for FSX or have you simply put the BGL files supplied in the package.

Also have you got the required aircraft and do the names in your individual 'aircraft'.cfg match up to the Aircrart traffic file names.

I use AIFP 2 for compiling my traffic files as it allows you to select the aircraft required, however you do need the flightplan to be in the basic txt format.

Having just had a look at the original package I suggest that you download the AIFP 2 and install then run the flightplan files through it and discard the original Traffic files supplied in the package. This would ensure the files are FSX complient.

If You cant find AIFP 2 then drop me a PM with email and I can forward it.

Hope this helps and doesnt confuse too much.

Me again!
Just wanted to say a great big THANK YOU to Stewart Kingswood and to ZK-LGD for their help with the Picton AI. smile.gif Thanks to their suggestions I now not only have the Cook Strait ferries running on time, but also the Picton float plane operating too....SORT OF. tongue.gif As it was originally designed for FS9 and probably default scenery? It has a few weird effects in FSX with VLC, The float plane is correctly positioned at the Picton jetty, but after a very prolonged taxi, it takes off and disappears through the nearby hills! blink.gif While at Wellington the plane is hiding under a wharf, and again after a very long taxi, it takes off and flys through some of the high rise buildings on its way to Picton! unsure.gif OK I can live with this, but am wondering if one of you clever wiz kids can come up with new flight plans to make it more realistic (Hint hint!) I would attempt it myself but this sort of thing is beyond my capabilities....Yeah I know "You are never to old to learn" (Don't believe it!) cool.gif

I did some of the AFCADs and the basic sceneries for this back in 2006. Tracey did all the flight plans himself.
It was built for FS9 with the payware Red Baron 20 mesh and Topo (later called SimPilot Xperience Mountains of NZ, and Roads and Rivers of NZ) installed,
but worked ok with the 75m freeware mesh installed.

Thanks for that Lawrie.
You sure have been involved with flight sim for a while, long may it last. I hope you are managing to overcome some of your difficulties with "Snowman's" website

All the best.
