Virtavia sale this week at 50% off, so many options in their lineup for millitary aircraft fans with a Pacific connection...
* Bristol Beaufighter
* T6 Harvard
* H60 Blackhawk
* C7 Caribou
* C17 Globemaster
* CH47 Chinook
* Lockheed Hudson
* F111 Aardvark
* Canberra Mk2
* DH Vampire
* Yak 52

Seems that the general suggestion is to go for the latter models which are typically more detailed, is that fair?. I've got the T6, H60 and C7, also have the Area51 C17 and Chinook so not much point in splashing out on the Virtavia models. Anyone got any reccomendations for must haves? Have always wanted the Yak so will be getting that at least. Anyone have their F111?

I fully recomend the F-111 and get the RAAF repaints from a great bloke named Barry Magann.

And...

If you do not have them already? Go and get Barry's repaints of the Caribou too.

http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?/files/...aribou-10-pack/

I can not get enough of flying the Caribou in PNG.

Cheers.

Tim.....

I love shopping "locally" online - 120MB is on the HDD in maybe 10 minutes.

Problem with "half-price sales" is you end up buying twice as much!
Osprey? Thought I had one, oh well... Ka-Ching!
Yak 52? Mmm Dauphin? Yess. Robinson R44? Why not!
Oh might as well get the Gripen too... always wanted a good Gripen.

And... a really great deal on link life!

I have the following in my collection:
AS365 Dauphin
SH-2 Seasprite
SH-3 Sea King
AH-64D Apache Longbow
KA-50 "Black Shark"
Tu-22 Blinder
BN-2 Islander (not included in sale)

In general, I've been happy with most of them. I particularly enjoy the BN-2 (again, not in the sale) and the SH-3 Sea King the most out of all of them. Keep in mind that the Sea King was redone for FSX and looks fantastic.
Of my selection, the Blinder and Dauphin are probably the lowest quality of the bunch, but they can still be enjoyable.

If I had to recommend for the sale, I would say:
SH-3 Sea King
KA-50 "Black Shark"
SH-2 Sea Sprite

Also, keep in mind the the Caribou is a port to FSX, so it has the prop-behind-clouds issue apparently. It's a non-native model.

Sean

The new version of the caribou has been fixed its still not a pure fsx native but the prop and other fsx issues have been fixed

Its good to see the prices finally reflect the quality
