I am not sure that I understand what you mean by this, Charl. Something like the "AI World Map" (it is in the same menu like the "Other AI Aircraft" page)? --> click.
And thank you, Adamski. I love your avatarLast edited by gsnde on Wed Jul 18, 2012 5:15 am, edited 1 time in total.Cheers,

Still needs some tweaking.
1. Is this a useful concept? Are there people who prefer this to a textual approach?
2. Is the performance good enough?
I think it is going to get too busy if you put everything in the graphical interface...
How about category links only on the map?
Perhaps a link to complete packages, like MAIW, another to individual aircraft and updates?
That way you can use the filters which become really powerful for bigger datasets.
Think how you'd use it:
Go to a country, get the package you want.
Oh, there's no xxx plane.
Go back to the map and see if there are any individual planes on offer, click through to list.
Filter. Install.
And, the RNZAF has 2 packages at flightsim!
The first is the complete Air Force complement:
FS2004 (ACOF) - FS2004 AI Flight Plans
FS2004 Royal New Zealand Air Force AI

The second is an airshow package at Ohakea:

A complete AI package of scenery, aircraft and flight plans, this is an airshow practice and sortie package which focuses on Ohakea airbase in New Zealand. I see what you mean, Charl, and I tend to agree. But I fear what you suggest is way beyond the capabilities of that map control.
From my perspective if you are searching for something specific, the tables with filter capabilities are the way to go. If you want to check out "what do we have in country xyz" then the world map comes into play. It is mostly the US which is already too overcrowded.
Thanks for the second RNZAF suggestion, I will add it now.Cheers,
Martin

Scrolling down a country list isn't actually all that difficult!
It's a great resource and I'm sure will be used by many in time to come.
Thanks for adding the RNZAF stuff, too.Last edited by Charl on Fri Jul 27, 2012 10:14 am, edited 1 time in total.

I was saying that the The Owl's Nest Military AI reference list (with download links) of military AI aircraft, repaints and flight plans has crossed the 1.000 mark. In the separate MAIW section you can read the description of each package, which should give you a pretty good idea if it is something for you.
Charl, hello again ....
I was too busy these days to actually use and enjoy FS. But I know the model is new and very much enhanced, so best have a look yourself and tell meCheers,
Martin

I'm also distracted at present, I have downloaded the KC135 MAIW package, but not yet installed.
According to the blurb, these models have nosewheel steering, in my opinion the last element that was needed for authentic AI.
Charl, are you by any chance Charl du Toit?
If so, can you please tell me something about a NH90 AI model? You won't believe what routes I followed to track you down - given that you are the same person![]()
All I ever had was a comment in a German FlightSim paper. And dead links without end.....Last edited by gsnde on Mon Oct 22, 2012 6:12 pm, edited 1 time in total.Cheers,
