FSS is a very congested site at the moment, but once in and get to the download page it's fine.

I'm downloading now... 4.4GB @ about 200KB/sec so have it tomorrow morning by the looks, if it doesn't crash...
Takeoff's are optional. Landings are mandatory.

I've grabbed it OK, but am unclear as to the install/upgrade procedure over existing REX(E). This isn't covered in the Manual PDF or mentioned in any text file, note on the site or whatever (sigh).

I've posted a query in their forums. Here's the general gist:

1) Go into existing REX(E) and reset textures back to default.
2) Uninstall REXE from Windows CP program manager.
3) Install PLUS.

Try this guys it works 100% for me

WARNING:
During the installation process, the installation wizard will ask you to identify a location where to install the upgrade. Be sure to click the "BROWSE" button and select the main folder where you originally have REX Essential installed. If you do not select the correct location the upgrade will not work properly and you will have to start over.

UPGRADE INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

FROM: REX ESSENTIAL BUILD 3.0.2012.0522
TO: REX ESSENTIAL PLUS OVERDRIVE BUILD 3.5.2012.1029

THIS IS THE PROCEDURE ON HOW TO UPGRADE REX ESSENTIAL BUILD 3.0.2012.0522 TO REX ESSENTIAL PLUS OVERDRIVE BUILD 3.5.2012.1029.

I. CONFIRMING YOUR BUILD
To confirm your current build of REX, please start REX and click on the ABOUT menu item. In the top right hand corner you will find the build #. For this upgrade you must have build: 3.0.2012.0522

II. PRE-UPGRADE PROCESS
STEP 1 - On your desktop you can delete the REX Essential icon. For this icon will no longer be required.

III. INSTALLATION PROCESS
STEP 1 - Download the upgrade into a temporary folder. Unzip the download files into in that folder.
STEP 2 - Click the rexessplus_od_setup.exe file to start the installation process of REX Essential Plus Overdrive.
STEP 3 - After the installation process is over, click the "FINISH" to close out the installation.

IV. CONFIRMING THE NEW BUILD
After installation has completed click the new desktop icon for REX Essential Plus Overdrive. On the splash screen you should see the new build. The build should read: 3.5.2012.1029

V. RESTORING YOUR CONFIGURATION, OPTIONS, TEXTURE SETS, FLIGHT PLANS, FLIGHTAWARE AND/OR PREPAR3D
Finally, after you install the new upgrade you will need to restore your previous configuration, options, saved texture sets, and flight plans.

STEP 1 - Open REX Essential Plus/Overdrive and go to the Configuration Manager and click on the General Tab.
STEP 2 - Click the RESTORE button under BACKUP/RESTORE CONFIGURATION SETTINGS
STEP 3 - Enter the username and password you initially created and click the RESTORE button.

Thanks for that!

So there's no need to restore textures beforehand?

Also - do you install PLUS over the top of (same directory) as the old REX(E). Am I being stupid? laugh.gif

Sounds to me Adam that it goes in the original folder, I know were you are coming from man I hope this update goes better than the last REX update last time I had to reinstall FSX from the beginning again!

Just run the exe and when asked for a location to put REX put it in the same folder that you installed REX on your computer.
