There's a small thread about it at Avsim, and a JustFlight representative states that it's being developed "in house", and is not connected in any way to CLS.
This could actually turn out to be fairly decent. Nice to see an old Air Canada livery as well.

Nice thing is returning to the types that are pre FMC and going back to INS and generally the 70 wide bodies cool.gif What we need now is maybe the DC-8 afterwards .

After the last historical Aircraft form Just Flight I have not much hope, thT THIS ONE is even better. A Comet with a longer left wing. questionalble iand unergoniomic instrumentation in the DC 3, a Vicount, that has numerous faults in using PTL-Engines...Ii like the Tristar... it is part of my personal history... but I am waiting after some reviews, before i take my hands on it.

Hi,

This is the first historical aircraft developed in-house (the others that you mention were developed by an external developer for us). Hopefully you'll be more impressed with the TriStar.

If anyone has specific knowledge about this aircraft that you feel would improve the aircraft then you are welcome to join the beta team, just send me a PM.

Thanks
Martyn (Just Flight)

Hi Martyn and Welcome to NZFF , the Tristar looks a goodie ... In house design , hmm idea.gif how about a design suggestion box .... while we are on 1970 jets .. how about step back a decade or so and look at a DC-8 ... course have mentioned the F-27 and with that one you have with us , your own real Mc-coy F2-27 pilot to beta test and supply all sorts of data and photos smile.gif

Boy .. your first visit here and i'm like the little boy sitting on Father Christmas lap biggrin.gif ....... Now were the hell is my pushbike laugh.gif santa_cool.gif

Yes the DC8 and the F27 would be fantastic.

I'm just glad to hear someone is building a payware that no one has built yet. Good luck with it JF. Looking good so far.

It will interesting to see if the Tristar's DLC (Direct Lift Control) pitch system will be modeled as well as the 'all flying tail'.

The pitch into landing with the DLC appears to be superb and yes has the all flying tailplane with trim and elevation control included at flap setting at 30deg.s and spoiler panels rise and fall due to inputs with the DLC.

A nice plane but not as good looking as the DC10. Something about it. Either the shape of the forward fuselage or the widely spaced engines???. Cannot get my head around it. The 500 series (last of the line) were the best looking of the bunch IMOP.

Ian do you know if the systems are comprehensive or a 'lite' version? Doe it use the CIVA INS or an in house one?

I tend to agree that I prefer the lines of the DC10 to the 1011. I was never endeared by the S bend arrangement with the number 2 engine although from an engineers perspective it worked a treat. Something about the nose too but still a fine looking aeroplane in it's own right and one I will look at.
Hopefully there is a P3D version or at least an FSX one that will work with it.

Ahhh... The Tristar !!!

One of the scariests sensations in all my years of
flying(as a passenger) was on one of these.

It was in Feb 82, a Cathay flight Perth/Brunei/Hongkong

Sort of relates to this

Adrian , the DC-10 was the better buy for Air New Zealand due to relations with MD and our history with the DC-8 ... reason for a little nudge nudge smile.gif

Let us see. In my eyes the L-1011 Tristar was the more sophisticated aircraft in comparison with the DC 10 and it was far less troublesome. The german LTU has flown this aircraft and never problems with it.
