World of AI will be shutting down and deleting everything from all websites at the end of April. I'm a little puzzled why they would go around and delete all traces of their existence instead of just leaving the files up, but that's their choice.

I believe people away from FS loose touch and have others grabbing the persons work and re-labeling as there own and taking the credit for the work . Its happen to myself and many others .

I am surprised too about the deletion, but understand all things must come to an end eventually. People move on, change games, etc. We are lucky as a community that so many of us stick around as long as we do, flying and supporting flying, esp when supporting it for free.

That's a real shame, so much history there, a heck of a lot of both old and new AI liveries that will be missed.
Just took a look at my FSX scenery folder and see I have 298 WOAI packs installed !!!

My goodness, the End of the World (of AI)!
Well thanks to those hardworking lads who provided thousands of simmers with thousands of hours of pleasure.
The WOAI packages will certainly survive for a long time to come, hopefully augmented by some of the other excellent freeware efforts ongoing.

Great to have some notice of this, I will most certainly have a Full House of AI before they shut the site down!

I noticed they hadn't released anything new since July and the 6 months or so prior to that had been very slow, so I'm not entirely surprised to hear they're shutting down. Fortunately I saved everything I downloaded from them!

I cant say I used much of their work as prefer to fly online. Whilst it is their choice to cease business I fail to understand the logic in deleting existing files. It amounts to the same thing as an artist torching his works.
The files were all freeware and if they are no longer in business then who cares what happens to the files. It would have been a much better gesture to have gifted them to the flight sim community perhaps even via a third party if need be.
All this IP and copyright, trade mark stuff just loses the plot every so often. I see the singer Adele is to trademark her name! How arrogant. Could you imagine if everyone trade marked their name? What makes her think it is her name to trade mark in the first place? Technically it belongs to whomever came up with the name Adele in the first place. It is all heading for one big IP traffic jam..........hhmmm.....I feel better now...more turkey and wine me thinks.....smile.gif
Remember the 50-50-90 rule. Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong!

Copyright-Problems? Often enough it is a hidden fight against using the liveries of the original airlines... We have in the USA and in Europe such behaver off some airlines, that didnt want any using from their "corporate design."
