Nelson certainly doesn't look right -- sorry, I do have plans to go through everything and check what's been broken, but in the meantime, I wonder if the Nelson Switcher would fix this -- with FTX Oceania active, run the Switcher, and press the Switch button twice, to toggle FTX compatibility off and on again.

Where can I find that switcher program Rob? I can only see one in my REALNZwanaka folder, nothing in Nelson's?
EDIT: Think I forgot to run this since my PC crashed sometime last year and I had to reinstall everything. Just found the downloaded .zip containing the patch and will give this a go!
EDIT 2: Bingo, reran the FTX compatibility fix from my download archives and have a nice flat Nelson Airport!

Also, a download of the latest Orbx libarys seemed to fix the black textures at Queenstown problem. Quite a few FTX users have had the issue resolved. See here: http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/828...zqn-queenstown/

Hmm, it should be there if you've installed for FTX compatibility... What is your Real NZ Nelson version reported as? (viewable under Programs & Features: 'uninstall or change a program' list)

Ok, so I did a flight fto Queenstown. Naturally I assumed that A runway only has one layer, man, was I wrong! I couldn't hear the GPWS until late, then I went THROUGH the top of the runway, and landed on the one underneath it with a layer on runway above me.... Looks like Orbx is gonna have to patch their patchy patch

Hi Chaps.

Just a quick survey. Has anyone noticed a remarkable drop in FPS around ChCh since updating to Sp3?
I don't use any photo Gen might I add and before I was getting a solid 30fps but since the update its around 13-18. I had to do a fresh reinstall of FSX last night anyway due to some conflicting software and installed it again with the same results. So I've ruled out it being a conflict somewhere.

Installed the MD-11 and some liveries and it deleted the aircraft (Both pax and the freighter) and half my FSX folders lol. So I called the bank and halted the CC payment and opened a support ticket tongue.gif

It's been known to happen lol it's tied into their anti-pirating system, sometimes it goes a little nuts and needs a straightjacket and some meds. I've had it trip before on the 747 but not like this, and they resolved that PDQ so it won't be long before the MD-11 is up and flying without going Charles Manson on my folders lol

Yes I have noticed a huge drop in FPS around the Christchurch area with the NZSI SP3 I have dropped from around the 30fps down to about 10-12 both with the Photoreal and with just ORBX with Photoreal turned off sad.gif

I did get a noticeable change and drop in FR, scary, very little extra done , almost default built models and a few library objects.

Thanks Ian. Im glad im not flying solo on this issue. i would hope the team at Orbx receives feedback on this and make amendments accordingly but if not then ill just roll back to Sp2. Frames that low on stock scenery is a joke

Turning off "ADE_FTX_NZSI_NZCH_Vegetation.bgl" and "ADE_FTX_NZSI_NZCH_GSE.bgl" might save some FPS.
Example: ADE_FTX_NZSI_NZCH_Vegetation.bgl.OFF

These files are located in FSX\ORBX\FTX_NZ\FTX_NZSI_05_SCENERY\scenery

If there's no FPS increase then I'll have to delete some objects. I didn't add any static aircraft for this very reason.

Cheers Eddy!

Ill give that a crack and post back with my results

EDIT: Just back from the sim since turning off those files. So frames did increase a bit. before i was anywhere from 12-15. now 15-18

Getting 13 - 15fps when looking anywhere near the airport from anywhere in the CHCH area, even when high over Littleton looking north west. Pan around past the airport area and it's sweet. Will try renaming those files ...

Strange , on here its a fresh install , I do like the changes NZCH but the entire package has many problems , again I'm still only re-installing ... hell of a wallop , biggest thing is who really is testing ?

im getting about 25fps with photoreal and orbx sp3 when taxiing and to confirm, reinstalling FTX NZQN fixed the elevation problem, for all those who have the issue too.

What type of AC are you using with those frame rates?
