Hi guys,

I know that this is not directly Flightsim related, however it has a huge potential for us:

Thinking: clip-less headtracking, scenery object placement by hand (in 3D),etc, etc

Microsoft getting a little worried that their consoles failed to attract as many PC Gamers to the console market as they hoped???

Yeah, so Kinect for Windows has been out for years - it was a "Kinect v2.0" effectively - think the XBox 360 version but much higher resolution, and twice the price. It never took off, but damn did it have potential. The Original XBox 360 Kinect could be used with PCs also, as long as you had either the very early ones with separate power supply and USB cable, or an adapter. I "met" a robot that the MS research guys had done a number of years ago with a few Kinects, a laptop and a DSLR Camera. It was at the Microsoft Tech Ed conference in Auckland and at the party on the last night, it wandered around autonomously whilst avoiding very drunk geeks and taking photos of all the action...

With respect to clip-less headreacking, try FaceTrackNoIr - works with just a webcam...the main issue is a lack of accuracy, so it tends to ping the view around all over the place, but you can "dampen" the response curves so that is minimal...
