ORBX HD Trees

Postby Q400 » Mon Apr 13, 2015 4:32 pm

ORBX have released their FTX HD trees that replace all the auto-gen trees in FSX & P3D
The resolution is much improved and you should see an improvement in frame rates.
I have installed this, and they are indeed looking very good. I have never really had a problem
with frame rates so I can't really tell if they have got better. This mod. is world wide and will work in
ORBX regions, ORBX Global or just plain FSX. Good value at AUD $18.35 with senior discount.

Orbx have always made nice trees, so I guess these are extra nice. And it looks like anyone can use them, not just Orbx users, which would mean a big improvement over default textures.

I've previously tried all the tree texture upgrades, but nothing really suited NZ, so I'm really looking forward to trying this. Pity I cleared out my Paypal account this morning, I need another couple of orders to cover this...

What goes up must come down, the trees are what you see when you go up and when you come down, 2/3 of the trip you will see trees. :nahnah:

Ive had a look at them (HD Trees) and they all look"dead" ..... if there are trees in my shots , I'm too low ... to be honest , scenery , trees, are just a pain ..... give me the aircraft , and its environment any day. (sky and clouds)
But .... as I've said before ... Horses for courses , so dont get all precious on me .... from now on , you get it like i see it . And if you dont like it ..... dont look.
Couldn't be easier aye .

I don't have the HD trees .. I do have the ORBX world and that did make a serious change compare to default. :)

Strange, I found the opposite with more variation in texture and colour in the HD trees compared with their normal trees. Whether it's worth the extra cost (though it isn't much) probably does depend on where and what height you fly at but in the 3000-6000 range I've been using lately they look good.

If you don't want 'precious' Marty, would 'Gollum' by acceptable instead?? ;)
