I'm running it in the DK2 and have had no performance issues that cause me grief. Performance is great and seems clearer than the previous DCOC software.

Not sure where you got that price from. Oculus have noted the Rift is likely to be cost price. The Dev Kit was ~$350 so I wouldn't think more than this.

Hard to find any news items which don't point to US$1500 early next year.

Just watched a youtube clip on multiplayer with vr and flyinside-fsx, looked pretty good!
The $500 Question: wait for public rift, or try and get a dk2 now?
PS: does it work ok with payware aircraft like PMDG and Majestic etc?
