I recreated this scenario from the memory of an article in a very old NZ Wings magazine about the trialling of this system for the Wellington Harbour Pilots using a Helicopters NZ Bell212 in this livery. I have been unable to establish the dates of this trial but did unearth a great u tube clip of this Helicopters NZ operation dated in the 1990's

, The guy put in the modem here saw what I had question, said G/pap flew Spitfire, said to him I be able to dig up the info here and be call back .. He grew with word it was Spitfires but did in fact turn out to be 486 flying Tempests, he was shot down but survived POW camps.
