Ian, you've been saving for it since the last one come out.

CP, are you going to get this or stick with Ifly? I'd be interested to hear. The have the original AirNZ livery as well.

Tell you the truth Nick , I have but spent it , I thick it will another save just simply the PMDG is so perfect and of course the 747 .... I have V1 and V2 now I'm really going to need to Rotate , add the fact the 747 is the pretties piece of heavy metal ... don't forget we we are talking around $186.00NZ , your going to want to make sure you practically live in it.

Yeah - I think I'll buy the A320 instead. I purchased the 777 but have only flown it 10 times maybe. I don't do long haul.

The early PMDG 747 V2, that did get a lot off air time simply between Christchurch and Auckland , every now and again to Sydney were as my ARBUST was brought and Ummm and Just sat there

When I moved from the 767 to the 777 I used the PMDG 777 as a sort of "trainer". It was great for learning panel locations and some of the systems.

Sure are Chris, and I have to say, when you look at the number of variants, level of detail, and repaints you get, I think its a pretty good deal
Hope to do some flying this weekend and will post some shots.

Its absolutely stunning tho might i add. Im loving the new ground friction PMDG have implemented with this release, makes taxing so much more realistic and manageable.

Even at the moment take quite a few months , I have always been very impressed with the PMDG 747 , like many items, when I was working it was a NO HESITATION .. I'd have before it was still in the process of uploading , as I'll wait till I die and get my 'Ghost Dollars' ..."spoonhead" , I have to reinstall my FSX again anyway and the 747 , be interesting to try something out, maybe later this week.

Chris I purchased it through the PMDG website and paid with PayPal.
It was $89.99 USD which when converted it shows on my PayPal receipt it was $127.84 NZD with an exchange rate of $0.70.
I agree, it is stunning, I have only had a quick play so far, but compared to the original PMDG 74, this is a whole new aircraft.
Thankfully its a long weekend....lol

I moved to the 777 at the beginning of last October. I did 3 years on the "Cougar". I also spent 6 years on it in the 90's as an F/O.

I have also managed to achieve a few milestones.
In August 2016 I had my 30yr anniversary flying with Air NZ.
This month, 40 years ago, I commenced an aircraft engineering apprenticeship.
I have now just gained 20,000 hrs in my logbook(s).

Not long after finishing our basic engineering training we were then farmed out to various workshops within the engineering facility. We would spend either 1 or 2 months in each before moving onto the next. For example it might be 2 months in the Undercarriage workshop, a month in Hydraulic components, 2 in composites and 2 on the JT3 (DC8) engine line. My first workshop was aircraft interiors, specifically the seat shop. Back then it was a place that they put old engineers out to pasture. Most were whinging poms that had been in the company for over 30 years. To change the radio station from anything other than Radio Rhema would be met with howls of protest and a sharp rebuke. I mentioned to my fellow course mates words to the effect that: "What loser would work for the same company for 30 years?"

Good grief 40 years in aviation.....I feel old.....time for a glass or 2 of red.
