If you don't mind my asking what might that issue be? Is there a cost to being a development partner?

There is a small charge which covers the cost of validation, but it isn't much. However you do need to be registered for GST, which I'm not at the moment.

That GST requirement is a pain in the arse that you could do without.

Finally got around to ordering the standard version today, I was planning to go all out, but I've spent so much money lately. (Ordered my new PC this morning.)

I took the plunge and ordered a new PC yesterday, it was about time for an upgrade since there are some other titles besides FS2020 coming up soon that would have started to tax my current system quite a bit. Getting excited now!

Earlier, I assumed that GST was to be added in the MS Store, simply because it is added by LM for Prepar3d, and plenty of other software bought from overseas lately. However I'm pleased that i was wrong.
Just reading details on the MS Store, where is says 'available of 18 August 2020, 12:00am'. Just musing that as this appears in the NZ store, maybe the release is regionally-based? So we might be the first to see it.

I ordered my Premium Deluxe version a week or so ago and ended up with about 30mb of something and an app
called Microsoft Flight Simulator. Then on Friday they pulled the trigger on the credit card, and yesterday, Sunday
IGb was downloaded unbeknown to me at the time and there are a few more flies and folders that don't make much
sense to me on the drive that I am using for MFS and it has rather grown in size.
They sent an email when they pulled the trigger on the credit card and said it would be available for download 17/8/20.
Didn't say a time. I guess that at least there won't be as much to download on the day.
And don't worry I am writing this with my mask on so no chance of infection :ph43r:

Microsoft have announced the release times, and yes, in NZ we can download MFS from midnight tonight.
I'll start it then, as I know it'll take until morning, based on the alpha. So hopefully I'll be trying it out with my morning coffee!

Well I better go have another coffee to keep me awake although I am probably going to run on adrenaline. So both should get me to midnight.

Available from the New Zealand Microsoft Store from Midnight Monday that's 12am Tuesday August 18.

However if you pre-ordered and purchased Microsoft Flight Simulator via Steam, you will be able to download at 04:00 UTC ( August 18, 12:00am EST) universally across all countries.

This means in New Zealand and want to download from Steam it won't become available for download on Steam until 4pm in the afternoon Tuesday August 18.

Well that’s a bummer. I can’t get it to install beyond the opening screen!

Yeah, took me a while to get it started, but it is downloading now. I had to ctrl - alt - del a couple of times first.

Watch this short video for troubleshooting any initial install issues, if downloaded from the Microsoft Store.

Has anyone tried one of the Hi Density Areas and what systems are you using. Going back to the arrival of FSX, my computer then would not even look at New York without stuttering to a standstill.

I've just done a test flight in New York, and posted a couple of screenshots.

An awesome free VFR map add on to let you know where you are for MFS2020.
Super easy instructions to install and so helpful if you have two monitors running.
Even has navigational data overlay if you wish.

Yes, you can find some small airfields as well along the way while you are low level exploring. :plane:
