Hello guys, been a while since I've been here.
Just getting back into flying, but I'm a bit lost.
Could someone show me the way to the X-Plane 12 forum.

There is no XP12 section here, I think I might be the only one using it. I put some screens up a week or so ago but that's it.

Thats probably why I couldn't find it.
Is there no X-Plane group at all?

No there is no specific Xplane, or any other specific flight simulator.
Just choose an appropriate place on the board index to put your posts.
AVSIM has a specific Xplane forum if you haven't already checked it out.

Well there's x-plane.org. That's most people's (including myself) one stop shop for everything XP. There's a dedicated XP12 forum that's very active

Yeah, I look on both of those sites, but this is closer to home.
Wanaka's my home airfield.

Evening Rocky 289, I saw your text here and thought you may like to know that iam using Xp 12 beta 6. This is the first time in years that i have logged onto NZFF as i have jumped to using X plane 11.53 and
now trying X Plane 12 Beta 6.
However seeing your location it quickened me to reply as i farmed not far away. a short hop.
These specs below may give you an indication of where my X plane 12 and X plane 11.53 simming is at and i can compare the performance of both operating systems.

Using W10
One computor Ryzen 7-3700x --mother board Rog Strix x570E ----Graphics card 2070Super 3 fans-- memory 32Gb
Dual master Air cooler
5 screens total each ..... 3 x 1920x1080 for the Graphics engine--- 1 x 1920x1080 to place C172 G1000 instrument panels on----1 x 1920x1080 for littlenavmap running off USB link.
X Plane 11.55 on its own seperate HDD has add ons.
X plane 12 beta 6 on its own SSD
X Plane 12 Beta has no add ons or ortho it is the raw unit that comes from the LR sight
This arrangement gives me an ideal way to test the old X11 from the new x12 beta and how the settings differ in the graphics engines.

That sounds like a nice setup you have there.
I'm sure you'll get a lot of pleasure out of that.

I've just got back into flight sim after a few years on truck sim & then train sim.
I just have a basic setup with 1 27'' main monitor & a 20'' to the side for reference.
Had to get my yoke & pedals out of storage.
Pedals had died, so had to replace them.
I also have a Saitek Farming side panel from truck sim use.
I want to utilize that somehow
I had been using FSX previously, but it's getting a bit dated now.
Couldn't decide whether to get XP12 or MSFS, so finished up getting both.
Just getting back into it I found MSFS a bit overwhelming, so are concentrating on XP12.
So, it's a bit of a learning curve.

Do you find the interiors of the aircraft a bit dark.
I see a few commenting on that, on other forums.

I find that the interiors can be a bit dark on both Sims but I think XP is a little better.

I find the XP12 default 172 has too much left pull on the ground.

Can't comment on that, only fly the Citation but I think I've seen mention of this on the .org

Hi Rocky,
Yes i have been a NZFF member from the times of FSX. vector land sets and all toprobs airports and loved them all flying NZ. very grateful for this introduction into flight sim from the members.
Yes i am an old fella now nearing my eightys and this is now my hobby. Was never allowed to fly for real on medical grounds, however i have an electronics background and cut my teeth as a lad on the semi state electronics conductor industry.
Now your question on the C172SP. in Xplane 12 Beta 6 and in fact all the early betas 1 to 5 the Cessna 172 pulls badly to the left on take off speed and becomes uncontrollable. The solution to this is to modify the Yaw graph to new settings ( which you have to design) and that access is found under heading joy stick and highlight your rudder peddals installation make.
I can help you with a graph profile if reqd, or start you on something that you can tinker around with or any questions so that the product Flight siming can be enjoyed.
but remember that X plane 12 beta is work in progress by LR and will continue to evolve untill final release date. It is likely as LR refine the C172Sp that you will see more performance changes. You also need to
update your X plane 12 Fuel Loadings and weights to establish your planes center of gravity.

Now X plane 11.53 is sweet in the C172Sp for me on take off but but but for me i have installed a modified Cessna 172 SP Update version 1.0.6 by MGouge from x Plane . Org ( hope i am allowed to say this ""Please edit if i am out of order") see designers notes of version 1.0.6.
I am using honeycomb Alpha, Bravo, and TFRP flight pedals love these working X plane.
I have a copy of MSFS as well.

Suggest go to Mr google enter Cessna 172SP Update 1.0.6 Description read extensive guideline and this will highlight what the author has modified for the SP model which is different to the NX model.
In addition the NX model was the last to use 40 degree flaps. This is all very good if you are using X Plane 11. version 55r2 to fly the skys at present while you wait for the x12 in all its splender.
However the above is NOT applicable for x plane 12 Beta 1-6 so if you wish to stabilize the takeoff you must play with the Yaw graph on your settings page at your risk.

Just noticed X Plane 12 Beta 7 downloaded with some new detail eg. the thrustmaster pedals now show up in settings . this is exciting a whole new diamension revolving before us.
As things are changing so rapidly may i suggest just take care modifying the finer points of the 172Sp now in X plane 12 Beta at this stage as maybe we will see refinements to this aircraft done for us . Keep in mind that this Beta Xp 12 is a whole NEW generation.

X Plane 11 version number is on opening front page.
To find X plane 12 Beta version number Open X plane 12 front page go to General section see bottom left corner of your screen labled "About X plane" open and view version number and build.
However when you open X plane 12 Beta it will always tell you a new version is available and take you threw the installers download.
