Clasic fighters airshow Cancelled

Postby dbcunnz » Mon Apr 14, 2025 6:40 pm

The cancellation decision was made today by the combined Classic Fighters Trust and Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre Trust, due to the forecast being unsafe and unsuitable for display flying.
The weather for the weekend is going to be real crap

That's really unfortunate but I did wonder, the forecast for the end of the week looks absolutely awful.

It's a good story but it's emfrat's fault.

No, Charl, I had checked the 7-day forecast earlier in the week and it looked OK, so things obviously deteriorated. Glad I got in first - with such short notice it might have proven expensive to cancel now.

Crossed my mind that one could've committed to a whole bunch of arrangements and nonrefundables, suppose the decision wasn't made lightly.
There's financial implications for the show organisers too, such a shame.
Is there a fallback date?

This is from the email that Humanitix sent to all ticket holders:
"We will be in touch shortly to update you on further details and hope to do so by the end of this month. We appreciate your patience in the meantime."

No fallback date....next one is Easter 2027. You are correct the decision was not made lightly, but it was the correct one to make.
