Flew this one around for the first time just now. It's absolutely great!
Manual startup was uneventful, and other than making sure my runway is long enough for takeoff/landing, it flies brilliantly!

Let's see some more liveries on this aircraft! Soviet Russia, Poland, Romania, etc, etc!

Did you get the cold start to work? I followed the video exactly a number of times and the engine just won't spool up. Have to end up cheating with CTRL-E ...

Great attention to detail in that VC pit though!

Yes, I've had zero problems with completely manual, cold-starts. I'll create a series of cockpit images highlighting what systems to press in what order for things to work in the near future.

Great - thanks - much appreciated. Did you follow the method as shown in the video? Just a thought - did you have the starter truck attached on startup? I didn't.

Yes, the starter truck is a critical part of the process. As I said, I'll get directional images up in the near future, but in the mean time:

Chocks in, truck activated, and pilot in the plane with the canopy closed.

All switches on the right side of the cockpit (battery, alternator, generator, lights, and other systems) ON/UP. Note: The switches for the gun sight and what's basically a JATO system are here too. You can leave them off if you want.)

Throttle to idle.

Cycle the shutoff switch directly behind the throttle to make sure the throttle is back all the way.

Almost all switches on the left cockpit that are mounted vertically and can go in an UP position....flip to ON/UP.

Press the starter button.

Engine RPM will rise and hover around 19% for a while, then it should kick over to a noticeable start.

Verification that engine has started: smoke will stop spewing from the plane when in spot view (with truck attached).

Detach truck and verify that RPM is holding idle power without fluctuation.

Switch on taxi lights (actually the furthest up position on the landing lights three way switch. Landing lights are the mid position).

Flaps to take-off position (one notch).

Pitot heat on (switches located on panel in front of joystick)

Chocks removed.

Verify nav light settings on right panel as desired.

Taxi out.

Departure.....

More detailed checklist in the future....

There's an update for her now, out at simviation at least. Appears to fly more realistically to what I've read now.

Cockpit and start up guide now located in the Screenshots forum!

Regarding the nose cone..........with the proper switches activated, it moves automatically based on your airspeed. Alternatively, you can move it manually as well!

The updated flight dynamics are good but I don't like the panel changes...so I think I'll go back to the original panel.

The SOH link is a great one but the guy complaining about the FM...I don't know if he's ever read up about MiG21s since they're considered to be a real pilot's aircraft. I really need to do some research on the MF, the F13 is my strength.

Also, guys, I've noticed 2x Polish and 1x Hungarian repaints on FS.com. Hopefully an EGAF and some USSR repaints aren't too far away! biggrin.gif

I think that Zsolt guy is gradually uploading everything he creates to flightsim.com.

The strange thing is that we have yet to see some classic Soviet Russian schemes with the red stars yet! Hopefully they'll be produced soon. Everyone is focusing on creating the liveries of other air forces.

You haven't got a link for those, by any chance? I'm after the Polish one winkyy.gif

@sean - I'm sure plenty of others will follow soon. This is going to be a very popular add-on! I can't believe it's freeware.

And some real world schemes!

Additionally, there are two seperate posts by "newcomer" on this page of the forum for two Serbian liveries. One old, one new.

I'm really looking forward to some Russian examples, that Botswana livery, and hopefully an RNZAF livery in the future!
