Wow. Ian you may be interested: got my new rig today (i7-6700K, SSD, GTX970 etc) and downloaded P3D v3.2. I just did my first flight out of Wanaka in Fair Weather, with Orbx South Island, REX T.D plus Soft Clouds, settings virtually maxed out in game, and I was getting 95 FPS constantly.

Soon wound up the weather to Grey and Rainy and the frames still sat around 80 FPS.

I am in heaven

It is hard for me to say as I have just got a new system, which includes are far more beastly CPU and GPU - so overall the experience is far better but I am not sure if it is v3.2 that is the difference, my rig, or both.

Having to wait a few days meant that I got the 'good' version, which fixes the problems that people had with subscriptions. I just installed the minimum, as I don't really think there's much of interest in the 'scenery' update.
Immediately noticed a more polished, smoother sim. Nice to see autogen buildings as far as the eye can see, really effective in big cities. And some of my city scenery has been plagued with floating houses, which seems to be fixed now.
I've scrapped 2.5, and really apart from testing new releases, there's no reason why I'd ever fire up FSX again. Prepar3D v3 is a couple of leaps forward as far as visual realism goes, still plenty of room for improvement, and so far LM seem keen to keep the improvements coming.

I'll still have to wait a lot longer ..it is good to see the constant builds.

Well, going to P3D would need a new machine to get the best from it, so at the earliest it would be Christmas (birthday is already allocated) or the birthday after next - if they are still making PCs by then. I hardly touch my FS Classic these days, and FSX would likely go the same way if I moved on, after all the building I have done to get it 'just so'.... :mods:

So far P3D 3.2 seems much smoother and renders textures sharper and more quickly as you fly over. I've dropped one of my few manual config tweaks (TextureMaxLoad=30) as it is no longer needed to maximise texture sharpness. A previous P3D quirk, where ground textures outside your aircraft's LOD radius would only sharpen to their maximum resolution as you flew directly over appears to be fixed.

The problems with watercraft and carriers bucking around in heavy waves is fixed and I haven't seen any flying houses either. Very pleased with the 3.2 update so far.

I'm getting a few z fighting issues on my ground poly when I pan around but maybe if i recompile it with the latest sdk it will resolve it?

Otherwise going good. I just did a update of the client, but found for addons that use the window (think the atc window style eg GSX, ANS weather report) you need to download the cont1.cab and content installer and run it as well. Careful as it remove the exe.xml and dll.xml entries - luckily i had a backup of those.

Ah, ASN is now patched for 3.2, I'm very pleased. Now all I need is a couple of proper Prepar3D 3.2 aircraft, and I'll be set.

Yep - I am loving it too!

After running the simconnect modules to re-install them, my PMDG 737 and Majestic Q400 are both working without a hitch. Oh I am a happy simmer right now!
